  • Do I have to be fit to take part in your classes?
Nope. We work with people of all fitness levels and abilities and we were all beginners once. We'd recommend coming and having a go! We have lots of Pole, Aerial and general fitness classes open to people of all levels with no experience necessary.
  • How much do classes cost?
Class prices vary according to the discipline, but all prices are shown on our booking page. If you're enjoying the classes, maybe consider purchasing a class pack for discounted class prices.
  • I'm Afraid of Heights, can I still take a class?
Pole & Aerial training does involve doing some activity in the air... but how high you go is entirely up to you. You'll have a chance to acclimatise yourself before doing anything at height. Alternatively, come and join a Stretch and Flex class to mobilise your body without having to leave the Studio Floor.
  • How do I find the Studio?
We are located upstairs in the Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club building. Follow the signs and our Entrance Door is directly at the top of the stairs - come straight in and wait in the changing area until 5 mins before your class.
  • What do I wear to a class?
For Aerial Hoop and Slings we recommend wearing leggings to protect the backs of your knees. For Pole, you'll need a little more skin on show as skin to pole contact is essential for grip! Shorts and a crop top/ sports bra are ideal. If you are not able to wear shorts/ exposed skin, consider ‘grippy’ style pole clothing.
  • Do I have to wear skimpy clothes to do a Pole class?
Pole classes require Skin to Pole contact for grip, so shorts are the preferable option, however they don't have to be skimpy. You should wear clothes you feel comfortable in, the confidence to wear smaller shorts (if you ever want to) grows alongside your pole journey.
  • Are your classes safe for someone my age (50+)?
All our classes can be modified if a student has personal limitations, however with a well balanced warm up and cool down as part of each class, and care taken to teach the correct technique to use our aerial equipment, age should not be a limiting factor for you. If you are nervous about trying this for the first time, why not come to a floor based stretch and flex, or yoga class to get to know us first.
  • Is it dangerous?
Like any physical activity, aerial classes do come with inherent risks. However, when practiced with proper guidance, safety measures and equipment, the risks are minimized. During classes, you will train under the supervision of a qualified instructor who will teach you the correct techniques and ensure you know how to use the equipment safely. We also perform thorough safety checks on all of our equipment on a regular basis, so you are always in safe hands.
  • I'm an athlete, can I join an Intermediate class?
If you are brand new to Aerial or Pole, even with experience in other similar areas, then you should attend one of our beginner classes to start with. You will probably progress faster than someone without an athletic background, but you will need to master the fundamentals of the Aerial equipment you've chosen before you meet our criteria for a higher level class. When you are ready, your Instructor will let you know you can move up a level.
