Meet Becca, the founder of Manx Pole Dance.

Becca loves how Pole makes you feel after you’ve had a good training session, and the body she has created from poling - she looks amazing!

Becca has been training for 12.5 years and when asked about her very first class, she remembers it being really challenging to start with, but really fun at the same time. She was addicted and just wanted to keep coming back and trying the next move.

She loves to challenge the misconceptions around Pole and enjoys splitting her time between teaching the Advanced fitness-based Students and Heels & Choreography workshops, where she can dance in her heels and feel feminine and sexy. She brings this to class to help the students feel the same way.

The other misconception is that you have to come to class in basically a bikini… you don’t! Yes shorts are required because you need to grip the pole, but gym wear is fine.

You will see Becca wearing a pole set because she feels good in it.

Did she wear a pole outfit when she first started? Absolutely not! The confidence to wear the outfits grew alongside her pole journey.

Leah's aerial journey started in 2012 when she attended her first pole class and fell in love with this empowering sport…

She then went on to qualify as an advanced instructor in both pole and hoop, which she enjoys in equal measure

She wouldn’t say that she has a particular favourite move, but if you asked Leah's students, they all know her best for her love of dynamic combos

Leah's best part of being an instructor at MPD is getting to see the students' progression every week… both those who are just starting their aerial journey and those who she's had the pleasure of teaching for years!!!

Leah teaches some of our more advanced classes, including intermediate pole and aerial hoop. She's also available for private 121 sessions on weekends!

Caz Chadwick

Caz started Pole in November 2016 (after Leah tried to get her to give it a go for a couple of years already ).

Even though she found her first class hard, she was back the following week, and the rest is history! (Caz was never a sporty person and never really stuck to any fitness regime. With Pole, she was immediately hooked!)

She carried on attending weekly classes and also started having PT sessions to help build strength. Her confidence grew a bit more each week.

Unfortunately, Caz was diagnosed with bowel cancer the following September and underwent major abdominal surgery. She was told it could take up to 6 months recovery time, but to the amazement of her consultant and doctors, she was able to return to training just 10 weeks later. Turns out having strong core strength helped in her recovery!

Things she loves about Pole are the confidence it has given her, and the friendships made over the last few years are just amazing! You also forget about the “real world” when you’re in the studio.

Caz decided she wanted to become an instructor as she just loved seeing students get moves for the first time, and to be a part of that journey with them is amazing!

She loves combos that have an element of drops, and she's also become a fan of pole assisted hand stand holds, but Caz also loves pretty static holds too!

Jules Hobbs

Debs has always been involved with alternative fitness and her love of aerial acrobatics started in New York in 2007.

She lived out of a suitcase and travelled the world, learning from the best, before setting up an aerial school in London and performing at festivals / corporate events / traditional circuses / movies and tv shows.. now she's brought the circus home to the Isle of Man.

She loves the feeling of achievement after a class or achieving a new move.. as a student it feels amazing, but as a coach you get invested in your students' progressions and feel immensely proud of them.

Debs started gymnastics with EVGC when she was a kid and after graduating from Uni, moved into Aerial Acrobatics and Circus training.. She has a wealth of experience, and is enjoying getting back into shape since having her daughter!

You'll find Debs teaching Fundamentals classes in the new Aerial classes she's bringing to MPD.

Jules is a sports massage therapist and fitness instructor. She splits her time across Elite Therapy, Manx Pole Dance and teaching mindfulness online.

She wasn't very sporty at school and hated PE, especially running, but when she first went to the gym with a friend at 16 she was hooked. She started with classes and built up confidence to step into the weights area. Loving how it felt to lift, her body transformed and she never looked back!

Jules' fitness instructor was such an inspiration that she herself began training for her Level 2 qualification. What started as a thirst for knowledge led to a summer job in the States and the rest is history...

Jules believes health is wealth and is passionate about the importance of movement and mobility. This shines through in her classes where she will help you to move, condition, stretch and work towards your aerial goals here at MPD.

Motto: We only get one body and it's important to look after it!
